Center of Developmental Pediatrics is excited to announce it's expanding and opening its 3rd location â Horizon Pediatrics in the beautiful Gleannloch Farms community in Spring!
We specialize in working with children who struggle with gross and fine motor skill development, sensory processing and sensitivities, self and emotional regulation, attention, social skills, transitions, flexibility, handwriting, academic success, and all other areas of development!
If you are looking for additional support and expertise for your child's growth and development, we are here to help! CDP has worked with so many wonderful families these past 10 years and we're looking forward to servicing this area as well!
What is our program all about? Every child has a unique way of seeing the world! We are excited to announce our new program for early childhood development combining sensory-motor activities and academics to boost your childâs success! With small group ratios and expert knowledge in how the brain and body develop, your child will be ready for all future endeavors! This is a true gift for your growing child!
After 26 years of being a pediatric occupational therapist and working in various settings, Iâve come to realize we need more opportunities of âplay basedâ learning, growing and developing. Children build neurological pathways through play; play is the WORK of the CHILD! Understanding how the brain and body develop through sensory-motor activities, helps set the foundation for all future learning and skills! It is our dream to see every child achieve success through our exceptionally, individualized program!â says Becky Mahalec, the owner of Center of Developmental Pediatrics and Horizon Pediatrics.

Our exclusive program is designed to help parents grow as well! We know you need educated answers addressing your concerns and how to best support their unique nervous system. Both our Early Childhood Educator and Pediatric Occupational Therapist will lead discussions twice a month for all our families enrolled in our program. This is a valuable time to build your skills and knowledge regarding your childâs development!

Meet Leslie Mills, our warm-hearted and energetic Director of Education at Horizon Pediatrics! A proud graduate of Sam Houston State University, Leslie was recognized as the Student Teacher of the Year for the entire state of Texas, a title that only hinted at the incredible impact she'd go on to make in the lives of children and families. With over 15 years of experience in early childhood and elementary education, Leslie brings a wealth of knowledge, creativity, and compassion to our team. Sheâs worked with students of all academic levels and learning styles, always striving to create supportive, engaging, and inclusive learning environments. Her dedication was most recently honored when she was named a Model Teacher in her previous district, a testament to her leadership, innovation, and heart for kids. Outside of work, you can find Leslie enjoying family time with her husband and two kids, diving into a good book, or doing anything sports-related!
